Sea Breeze Crochet Blanket

Sea Breeze Crochet Blanket - front view

I’m dreaming of beach vacations right now so I wanted to design a crochet blanket with a wave detail. The result? The Sea Breeze Crochet Blanket. It looks great on a sofa and comes in handy when the air conditioning seems just a little too chilly. If you would like to make one of your own, read on!

It may be difficult to tell from the photo above (sorry about that!) but the white sections running throughout the blanket are a series of shells that have been slip stitched together to look like rolling waves. The rest of the blanket is worked in repeating rows of half double crochet and double crochet, using a soft ombre yarn. I kept the border simple so that the “waves” would remain the star of the show.
