Elegant Lodge Throw – Free Crochet Pattern

Elegant Lodge Throw - outside - crochet blanket

I just completed a new crochet blanket pattern – the Elegant Lodge Throw! This free pattern is for a lovely, crochet throw with textured, neutral stripes and an over-sized shell border. The pattern has an easy repeat so it can be memorized and worked up quickly. I love the weight of this crochet throw – not too heavy and not too light – perfect for snuggling on the couch this time of year! If you would like to make one of your own, read on!

Border:
Round 1:

With A, ch 1, work 1 round of hdc around all 4 edges of blanket, placing 3 hdc’s in each corner, ending with a sl st to beginning ch.

Round 2:

Ch 4 (counts as 1tr), 6tr in same st, skip 2 or 3 sts, sc in next st, *skip 2 or 3 sts, 7tr in next st, skip 2 or 3 sts, sc in next st; repeat from * around, ending with a sl st to beginning ch.

Note: For round 2 of the border, I skipped 2 sts on each side of my blanket, but skipped 3 sts on the top and bottom edge of my blanket. I just liked the way the shells laid out by doing it this way.

Fasten off, weave in all ends, and enjoy your new blanket!

        1. I’m sorry but no. I’m glad you like it however and hope you’ll give it a try anyway. Thank you!

    1. I used Big Twist Baby yarn, which is a #4 worsted weight yarn and the yardage per skein is 185 yards (169 meters).

      1. As the instructions state, 1 pattern repeat = Row 5, Row 2, Row 3, and Row 4. So you will repeat that three times. To write it all out, the 3 pattern repeat is worked as follows: Row 5, Row 2, Row 3, Row 4, Row 5, Row 2, Row 3, Row 4, Row 5, Row 2, Row 3, Row 4.Hope this helps!

  1. Thank you for the beautiful pattern, I like a change from granny squares blankets. Iā€™m looking forward to making this up.šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘
