Bella Rosa Filet Crochet Blanket

Bella Rosa Filet Crochet Blanket

Today I’m sharing with you a beautiful crochet blanket pattern – the Bella Rosa Filet Crochet Blanket!

This is the second filet crochet project that I have shared on the blog. You may also be interested in my free pattern for the charming Nautical Filet Crochet Blanket.

Traditional filet crochet uses only two stitches – chains and double crochet – to create a grid like lace which can be used to depict graphics. This blanket depicts a row of diamonds at the bottom and top. In this pattern, I have taken the liberty of modifying the traditional filet crochet technique by separating each row of double crochet with a row of single crochet. I really love the stitch definition this modification creates. The blanket is finished off with a lacy border which resembles hanging coins!

I used Yarn Bee Soft Secret in red for this project. This yarn is fantastic for making blankets because it is very lush and cuddly. However, any #4 worsted weight yarn will work for this project. If you would like to make the Bella Rosa Filet Crochet Blanket for yourself or a loved one, read on!
